12/31/2023 0 Comments Megadeth rust in peace review![]() ![]() If you haven’t heard Dystopia it’s a must. Unlike some of their peers, Megadeth are still putting out high quality metal albums. I choose Rust In Peace to review because it is an undeniably incredible anthem of aggression. The main riff is extremely catchy and, while the lyrics are. The album immediately begins strong with an undeniable metal classic. Rust In Peace is, in theory, Wyld Stallyn's magnum opus. There really isn’t a bad song on this whole album. In a 2016 interview with the 'Eddie Trunk Podcast', Mustaine confirmed that MEGADETH didnt hold any rehearsals with Friedman while attempting a reunion of the 'Rust In Peace' lineup. The album quickly becomes an exercise in goofy and cheesy songwriting straight out of 80's movie with the protagonist in a fictitious heavy metal group. This is regardless of album, artist or genre. It’s like a treasure chest full of timeless metal artefacts I can’t believe it’s been 30 years since it was originally released The song order is great too. Welcome to another episode of Out Of My Element where I review the albums that you guys vote for. Rust in Peace was my first Megadeth album and is my favourite. The two Daves (Mustaine and Ellefson) were joined by guitarist Marty Friedman and drummer Nick Menza for this album and created the magic (maybe Five Magics?) for this album. A lot of the old school thrash fans who were listening to this music when it was first released will tell you the first three Megadeth albums are absolute classics, and they are, but they’re just not on the same level as Rust in Peace. ![]() Of course Killing is My Business, Peace Sells, and So Far, So Good. I’m going to get a lot of crap for that, but that’s my opinion. I don’t think Megadeth’s first three albums were that great compared to Rust in Peace. I’ll let you in on a really dirty secret of mine. Then there's David Ellefson, who gets quite a few moments on this album like on the. Nick Menza is awesome behind the kit, plain and simple. Them plus Dave Mustaine and David Ellefson are Megadeth's most successful and recognizable lineup. These are songs people can use to convert heavy metal haters into heavy metal lovers. Rust in Peace is the first Megadeth LP to feature Nick Menza on drums and Marty Friedman on guitar. Killer riffs, killer solos, killer bass lines, killer drums. A good level of bangers, but it has slightly grew off on me over time since I heard it Released in September 1990, having been recorded at Rumbo Recorders throughout the last year prior, Rust in Peace is one of Megadeth's most acclaimed works. In my opinion they are also the best songs in Megadeth’s repertoire. The brilliant musical complexity of these two songs blows me away every time I listen to them. This is the best 1-2 punch in heavy metal history. This album has “Holy Wars…The Punishment Due” and “Hangar 18”. Join us daily through December 25th to read the latest entry.
